News App UI/UX Case Study
Inroducing Quick News
Overview
Quick News is a native News App designed for iOS and Android devices that provides quick and easy access to the latest news stories locally and around the world. With a simple, user-friendly interface, users can quickly scan headlines and summaries, and then dive deeper into articles that interest them.
I was the sole designer & researcher for this project and the duration was 1 month.
Objective
The objective of this app is to save time for those who are on-the-go or have limited time to read news. The app's quick reading feature allows users to quickly skim through articles by highlighting the most important sentences and key points.
The app's personalized newsfeed provides users with stories tailored to their interests and preferences, e nsuring that they always stay up-to-date with the news that matters most to them.
The Problem
While researching Competitor apps in the market it was found that most of them had very lengthy news articles and no way to access localized news and events.
The Solution
The solution was to create an app that summarizes news articles by highlighting key points, making the articles short and to the point that would also allow users to view news and events based on their location.

Target Audience

Challenges
I had some difficulty fine-tuning my auto layouts because this app has a lot of layouts and components in order to keep them consistent, but I was able to figure it out in the end, making sure the spacing was consistent throughout the app.
Takeaways
I believe that I created a user-centered app that is versatile, dependable and minimalistic. As a News app user myself, I do not like visual clutter and keeping that in mind, designed my app to be simplistic yet visually appealing.
